About the indicator «Mortality rate»
Relative proportion of deaths in hospital for a specific intervention or disease per hospital.
The hospitals sometimes treat groups of patients with different case severity. Therefore, the FOPH determines a rate of expected deaths per hospital and procedure. For the quality comparison, we use the ratio between the expected and the actually observed deaths (per intervention and per hospital). This is called risk adjustment. For this reason, it can occasionally happen that a hospital performs better in the ranking even though it has a slightly higher percentage of deaths.
Please note that we use the FOPH data per hospital site in order to achieve the most precise statements possible.

I was in the clinic after heart surgery. The clinic is definitely in need of renovation. But the great and loving effort from the cleaning lady to the doctors is worth more to me than a single shower without a toilet. The kitchen was great! My father (78) was advised to undergo a double bypass operation on his heart. He and his relatives were told that it was a routine operation. He died 2 days after the operation from septic shock/multiple organ failure. In less than 3 weeks he would have become a grandfather.... About the surgery:

Very careful and competent examination in cardiology. After emergency admission and cardiological clarifications I experienced rapid administrative processing and planning of further action. About the surgery:

One has the feeling one (the health insurance) is being ripped off. Tests are carried out which are not necessary at all. No consultations with the family doctor or cardiologist. Apparently only young and inexperienced doctors are present.

Excellent cardiology. In my persistent atrial fibrillation with atrial thrombus, which lasted 3 months, the right steps were taken at the right time in every phase from thrombus dissolution to electrocardioversion and follow-up support.

Incompetent, ignores what has been agreed. What happened in the surgery room is serious body harm. I had to look around for another clinic and had to be operated a third time. Inhumane this doctor. Not recommended. About the surgery:
Pacemaker, slipped after 1st intervention, 2nd intervention went very differently than agreed, pacemaker incorrectly placed and went through hell during surgery because I was denied sleep, the answer was too short; anesthesia was not sufficient; went to other Clinic which is great. Birth: My wife gave birth in Bülach Hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors reacted too quickly and induced labor with hormones late in the evening. This was not necessary and the baby's heartbeat could have been monitored for a little longer and not just 35 minutes.

Because of cardiac arrhythmias, I had a pacemaker implanted on November 2nd. A short “thing” of just under an hour. Thanks to the partial anesthesia, I was able to follow the interesting operation. Excellent work was done by PD Dr. Winnik and his team (also before the operation). About the surgery:
Removal of the event recorder, pacemaker implant. Everything went great, the extreme tiredness is now gone and I'm recovering quickly. I only feel a kind of muscle soreness in my left arm. Since there will be no more fainting spells, I will move much more confidently. (surgeon: Dr. Stephan Winnik)

About the surgery:
Stents after a heart attack in a 92-year-old patient. Inadequate explanation as to whether the intervention is really necessary despite the living will. Patient died after unacceptable discharge and two re-admissions. During the dying process released again into the nursing home, absolutely inhumane. (surgeon: Dr. Nicht Bekannt)

Employees are colder than a piece of ice. Not friendly at all. They pretend, but you can tell it doesn't come from the heart! If you call in an emergency, you are usually turned away! I'm really speechless! I've never seen anything like that!

They have optimized their processes to such an extent that they could just as easily replace the staff with robots - you can spend days in your bed without anyone caring about you.
